Lifestyle Article - Barnett Waddingham announces nine new promotions to partner

Barnett Waddingham has appointed nine new partners among its 2020 promotions.

The new partners will take up their leadership positions across a range of the firm’s core business areas, including actuarial consulting, investment consulting, pension administration and IT.

With the promotions taking effect on 1 June, the total number of partners reaches 80, all of whom are equity owners of the business.

The firm’s independent ownership and culture allows it to provide clients with impartial advice backed up by deep industry expertise, which is something it has done for over thirty years. The ability to do this is seen as a particular advantage in today’s financial market where bespoke, unbiased advice is increasingly in demand.

The organisation has also promoted 20 new principals and 24 new associates.

Andrew Vaughan, Senior Partner at Barnett Waddingham, said: “We strongly believe in maintaining our tradition of continuous development in our people. Doing so not only allows us to offer clear career progression to the many skilled and dedicated members of our team, it ensures we remain ready to provide our clients truly competitive and independent expertise, now and in the years ahead.

This sustained investment in talent development also raises the overall standard of consultancy across the market, which benefits everyone.

“This year’s promotions have come at a time when many businesses and individuals are reeling from the impact of Covid-19. Our new partners will help us continue to provide much-needed guidance amid the ongoing situation, laying further groundwork for the future stability and resilience of our business and that of our growing client base.”

Barnett Waddingham has seen strong growth in the past year and today counts almost one in four FTSE 100 companies among its clients. Notable new ventures include its burgeoning risk advisory service and its high-level work in management decision analytics.

Two partners – Bhargaw Buddhdev and John Harrison – have also retired as of 31 May.

 Those promoted to partner are:
 • Amardeep Sitara (IT, London)
 • Ben Clacker (Pension Administration, Cheltenham)
 • Dave Moreton (Investment Consulting, Bristol)
 • Fiona Rumsby (Pension Administration, Amersham)
 • Ian Mills (Investment Consulting, London)
 • Rosie Fantom (Bulk Annuity Consulting, London)
 • Rosie Marsh (Actuarial Consulting, Leeds)
