Luddite Article - National App Week- Daily Finance Reviewed

Reviewed by Michael Banks, Corporate Group

 What does it do?:

Daily Finance is designed for investors and market followers to gain access to real-time quotes, track multiple portfolios, and keep up to date with all the latest financial news from over three thousand sources. With instant stock quotes from BATS Exchange and fifteen minute delayed quotes from NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX, this Daily Finance really has its finger on the financial pulse. If that wasn’t enough, it also has an automatic, thirty second stock price and market data refresh feature and automatic, two minute intraday charts and market news headlines refresh feature. And like all great apps, users can customise the content to suit them, including the facility to create up to twenty five watch lists. Industry professionals will be impressed by the interactive charts tool, which allows you to track current and historical performance of investments and compare against market benchmarks.

 What was good about it?:

This app has a simple, clean design and is easy to navigate. The ability to customise this app is a real advantage, with features like being able to add and remove topics in the news menu being thoughtful additions by the developers. The content’s reassuringly up to the minute, which is all important in the fast paced financial sector and it’s quick and easy for users of this app to access data, particularly with watch-list tool.

 What was bad about it?:

As with so many free apps, the pop up advertising is distracting.

 Verdict:

The Daily Finance app is a thoughtfully designed, quality news feeds with speedy navigation.

 Score: 8/10
