Lifestyle Article - 4Most hire Chartered Actuary Colin Haines as Client Partner

Specialist analytics and risk management consultancy 4most has added to its senior team with the addition of Colin Haines as new Client Partner for BPA Market Services based in the London office.

Haines will spearhead 4most’s activity in a growing market that has experienced record levels of transactions in recent years. With ten insurers now competing for more than 250 UK deals with over £40 billion premiums a year, the mission statement of 4most’s BPA Market Services team is to help individual insurers write one more deal a month.

Haines is a Chartered Actuary (Fellow). Over a 30-year career, he has held prominent Partner and EMEA leadership roles at major global and European pensions and actuarial consulting firms, establishing himself as a trusted adviser to multinationals, pension funds, insurers and regulators.

Haines’ move to 4most follows a 12-year tenure at Aon, where he served as EMEA Chief Commercial Officer for Aon’s Wealth Solutions business unit. He is also co-founder and CEO of Haines Global Pensions.

Industry estimates predict that the UK insurers could take on more than £500 billion of BPA premiums over the next decade. BPA insurers face pressure to grow their teams and transform their businesses to capture market share. Areas of focus include automating processes, managing data better, introducing new technology including machine learning, refining pricing and reserving, optimising matching adjustments, measuring funded reinsurance risks, and carrying out credit portfolio management reviews.

Ramesh Indran, Managing Partner, Insurance Consulting at 4most, comments: “Our latest appointment is testament to our ongoing efforts to support insurers optimise their people and processes to continue competing effectively in this rapidly growing market. Colin’s deep knowledge of the pensions market, regulatory expertise and strategic insight into navigating complex regulatory frameworks make him an excellent fit here at 4most.”

Colin Haines, Client Partner at 4most, comments: “4most’s mission is to help individual insurers write one more deal a month. I’m looking forward to building relationships with new and existing clients and enhancing our position as a trusted partner for insurers. 4most is an excellent company which has had exceptional growth, boasts a deep financial institution client book, has extensive subject matter expertise, and is an excellent position to support insurers transform and write more business.”
