Aberdeen Asset Management sets sail in the City to promote Cowes Week

The Churchyard of St Mary-le-Bow Church was dominated by a 27 foot long dragon boat this morning to launch the inaugural Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.Olympic gold medallist Sarah Gosling was there for the event to help the firm promote their partnership with the UK's largest sailing event. Sarah Gosling OBE, who sailed to victory as one of the "three blondes in a boat" at the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games said:

"Having a boat displayed out of context in the City is a really fun and visual way to celebrate the start of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week. Aberdeen Cowes Week is one of the highlights of the UK's sporting calendar, and I'm delighted to be a part of the event."

Aberdeen Asset Management's global head of marketing Piers Currie adds, "We are excited to be sponsoring the UK's most famous sailing regatta. We try to make a difference to our sponsorships by getting actively involved and hope our work helps Cowes Week attract yet more yachts and participants."
