General Insurance Article - AGCS UK announces new CEO


Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has promoted Brian Kirwan, Regional Unit London Head of Market Management & Communications, to become CEO AGCS UK*. He will report directly to Carsten Scheffel, Chief Regions & Markets Officer and Member of the Board of Management, with effect from October 1st.

 Brian joined the AGCS team in 2011 and has previously held various executive positions within the Allianz Risk Transfer (ART) division. This promotion comes with the decision to expand roles on the AGCS Board, and ensures continued effective management in the UK. Brian will also retain his regional responsibility for Market Management and Communications.

 Carsten Scheffel, Chief Regions & Markets Officer and Member of the Board of Management, said:
 “I am very pleased to see Brian progress into this role. With his strong background in Market Management and his strategic experience, he is the ideal person to drive AGCS UK forward.
