 Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon Corporation (NYSE: AON), today announced Philip O’Brien has been appointed resident sales director of the New England and upstate New York region.

 O’Brien is responsible for business development as well as providing thoughtful and customized risk management advice to Aon clients. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance arena, and spent time on both the carrier and brokerage sides of the business.
 O’Brien most recently served as vice president and global relationship leader for Zurich Financial Services, where he managed large global customers with a focus on client retention and growth as well as new client acquisition. Prior to his role at Zurich, he was a managing director at Marsh for 23 years.
 O’Brien earned his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Maine and completed the executive program at Harvard Business School.
