Investment - Articles - Aon issues an investors guide to responsible investment

Aon has issued ‘An Investor’s Guide to Responsible Investment’.

This new paper examines the increased focus on Responsible Investment in all its various forms, and reflects the growing awareness from investors globally that non-financial risks may have a meaningful impact on long-term financial performance.

Tim Manuel, head of responsible investment in the UK at Aon, said: “With this paper we are aiming to provide a broad introduction to Responsible Investment, including the main approaches and the current investor landscape.

“We are seeing increased interest in this area from our clients and the will for a better understanding of a more sustainable approach to investment – and all its implications. We are very conscious – particularly via the various industry initiatives in which we are involved – that the Responsible Investment landscape is evolving fast. This increased pace of change is courtesy of a number of reasons, ranging from regulatory changes through to a new generation of decision-makers challenging the way things are done.”

Tim Manuel continued: “But ultimately, we believe that long-term investors – including pension scheme trustees – have to define their own beliefs around Responsible Investment and we hope that this paper can play a part in their initial thinking.”
