Pensions - Articles - Barings links up with AMNT to increase AE awareness

The Association of Member Nominated Trustees (AMNT) has linked up with Baring Asset Management to increase awareness and understanding around the UK pension reform programme.

Responding to member demand the not-for-profit organisation, with the support of Barings, have created an informative online video aimed at improving member engagement around auto-enrolment and workplace pension schemes.

In a short presentation, the YouTube clip sets out the basic details of the reforms along with the duties, the target audience and a brief explanation on the nature of investing in a defined contribution pension scheme under auto-enrolment.

Andrew Benton, Head of Institutional Business at Barings, comments, "We are very pleased to be working with the Association of Member Nominated Trustees on highlighting this important topic. The implementation of auto-enrolment signals a major step-change in the pension saving landscape. Awareness of how this fits into wider pension reforms is a topic that cannot be ignored and will only become more pressing as the phasing in of the new duties continues."

Barry Parr, Co-Chairman of the Association of Member Nominated Trustees, comments, "We are always seeking to promote best-practice. Raising our members' awareness of significant industry issues is an important part of that. In order to encourage greater engagement in auto-enrolment amongst our member trustees, we initiated this educational project and have worked with Barings to produce this video. We hope that this video may help our members in the provision of key information to their own scheme beneficiaries."
