Barnett Waddingham, a leading independent UK consultancy at the forefront of risk, pensions, investment and insurance, appoints Ian Mills as Senior Investment Consultant to continue the development of its services to DB pension schemes. |
Ian Mills joins the Investment Consulting team to advise trustees and sponsors on investment and risk management strategies. Ian was previously at Redington, where he was a Managing Director in the investment consulting team from 2017. Prior to this he was a Partner with LCP. Ian has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and has helped DB schemes sized from, £10m to £25,000m, improve their investment strategies. As well as being a qualified actuary, he has also served as a trustee, and he uses this experience to ensure his advice is always focused on the needs of clients. Ian has particular expertise in the implementation of insurance buy-ins, having advised on some of the UK’s largest and most complex transactions of recent years. Ian Mills, Senior Investment Consulting at Barnett Waddingham, said; “As a consultant I am here to ensure our clients make better decisions which, will ultimately put their schemes in a better place. By putting ourselves in their shoes we can think past the usual offerings and provide advice based on their unique circumstances and needs. “The biggest value we can bring as consultants is to help our clients use their precious time in the best way possible, by focussing on the decisions that will really make a difference and avoid spending too much time on those that don’t.”
Alex Pocock, Partner and Head of Investment Consulting, said; “Ian Mills’ appointment is a direct reflection of the increased client demand for investment services at Barnett Waddingham. His expertise will provide our team with a variety of knowledge in the sector, giving us the opportunity to offer new and existing clients a broader spectrum of services.” |
