General Insurance Article - Broker doubles turnover in successful year

A fast-growing South East insurance broker is bucking the recessionary trend, doubling turnover during the last 12 months.

PI Expert, headquartered in Uckfield, East Sussex, launched as a new brand in the competitive professional indemnity market at the end of 2010.

A business model built around a relentless focus on customer service has seen company grow to such an extent that two more specialist arms of the business have since been launched covering household and private medical insurance.

Affinity Select MD Jenny Carter-Vaughan said: “Our performance last year shows that there is room for growth and success, even in difficult times.

“From the outset we decided that there was a gap in the brokerage market for a company that was genuine in its desire to deliver exemplary customer service – but even we have been surprised by how well customers have responded to our approach.

“Our sense is that the current economic climate has led people to want and expect more from their suppliers.”

PI Expert specialises in the provision of indemnity insurance for professions including solicitors, accountants, architects and healthcare professionals. Its sister companies HI Expert and MI Expert focus on the domestic and medical insurance sectors.

The company, which currently employs 15 staff, has plans to expand further into other markets including Kidnap and Ransom Insurance.
