Lifestyle Article - Charlotte Quarmby joins Risk Settlement team at Aon

Aon has appointed Charlotte Quarmby as an associate partner in its UK Risk Settlement team.

Charlotte Quarmby joins Aon from LCP’s de-risking practice, where she was a partner.

Charlotte has nearly 10 years’ industry experience and considerable knowledge of advising trustees and pension scheme sponsors seeking to reduce risks through insurance products, having helped clients complete buy-ins and buyouts ranging from £15 million to £3.7 billion in size.

Charlotte sits on the management committee of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Bulk Annuity and Longevity Swap member interest group.

Martin Bird, senior partner and head of Risk Settlement at Aon, said: “Charlotte Quarmby joins the Aon team as an experienced consultant with a history of success in the pension risk transfer market.

“With an increasing number of UK defined benefit pension schemes opting for buyout as their long-term target rather than just self-sufficiency, we are seeing more and more clients requiring advice to plan their de-risking journey. Charlotte has experience from numerous annuity transactions, including working with the ICI Pension Fund and 3i Group Pension Plan, and has played a pivotal role in some innovative deals, including advising on one of the first Assured Payment Policy transactions with Legal & General, so she is a great addition to the Aon team.”
