Lifestyle Article - Donna Prince new Head of Member Experience for Risk Transfer

Hymans Robertson has appointed Donna Prince as Head of Member Experience within its Risk Transfer and wind-up practice. This newly created role reflects the firm’s growing focus on member outcomes as a critical component of risk transfer strategy. In this role, Donna will lead the development and delivery of member experience solutions and ensure that schemes are equipped to place member needs at the heart of their decision-making.

To do this she will ensure sponsors and trustees have a clear and detailed understanding of insurer propositions and administration capabilities through buy-in, to buy-out and beyond. This will enable effective trustee decision making, the ability to compare to existing member experience and ultimately enhance member outcomes.

With close to 20 years’ experience advising clients, Donna has worked across a wide range of scheme sizes and complexities, now specialising in buy-out and wind-up transitions and leads Hymans’ relationship with all of the insurers’ transition teams. Her work has been instrumental in shaping the Hymans Robertson’s approach to advising on the member experience throughout all stages of a risk transfer project. She has supported clients of all sizes, ranging from less than £5m to £5bn, on a range of complex issues including specialising in member options and support for ongoing schemes – she uses this expertise to support clients to factor in member experience as part of their risk transfer decision making and deliver positive outcomes for members.

Donna Prince, Head of Member Experience, Hymans Robertson, said: “I am thrilled to be appointed Hymans’ Head of Member Experience. This is an incredibly exciting area, with member experience becoming a key consideration when selecting an insurer – not only in terms of the administration offering, but the member service and support, the technology, and the ability to price complex options. There is a huge amount of innovation in this area and I look forward to ensuring we continue to prioritise member experience as part of a scheme’s endgame journey.”

Lara Desay, Head of Risk Transfer, Hymans Robertson, said: “We’re really pleased to appoint Donna into this vital role focussing on members. Her in-depth experience, passion and commitment to improve member outcomes as part of risk transfer transactions will benefit trustees and sponsors and help drive innovation in this space. As the risk transfer market continues to evolve, trustees and sponsors are increasingly recognising that member experience is not just a communications challenge but a strategic imperative. This appointment reflects our commitment to helping clients, offering tailored support that enhances member understanding, confidence and engagement throughout the transaction process. Donna brings a blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience, which is invaluable as member experience is a critical factor in insurer selection and overall transaction success.”
