Lifestyle Article - Hymans Robertsons new Head of Corporate DB Endgame Strategy

Hymans Robertson has appointed Sachin Patel to the role of Head of Corporate DB Endgame Strategy, recognising the increasing pressure DB schemes face when planning the final stages of their strategic journey.

Sachin has been at Hymans Robertson since 2014 and qualified as an actuary in 2020. He is a lead consultant in the firm’s Corporate DB team, helping schemes to plan their endgame journey and navigate the complex range of choices they will face at this time.

Commenting on his new role, Sachin says: “The pensions landscape in which DB schemes now exist has never been so varied, with changes in funding levels, market innovation, and a variety of endgame solutions, creating a vastly different endgame journey to previous years. This means that the need for a well-executed, and clearly defined strategically aligned path, has never been more pertinent for companies.

“With a new government in place, the impact of the Mansion House reforms could open up an array of opportunities for schemes with a variety of new incentives, via major government policy changes. Our expertise in advising clients, and working with providers, means we can provide market leading insights into the various endgame options. I look forward to leading our experienced corporate team in this expanding market.”

Sachin’s appointment follows on from the promotion of Leonard Bowman, who previously held this role, to Head of Corporate Consulting at the leading pensions and financial services consultancy.

Commenting on the experience Sachin brings to the role, Leonard Bowman, Head of Corporate Consulting, Hymans Robertson, says: “The appointment of Sachin further reiterates our commitment to provide dedicated tailored advice to DB schemes at such a complex and pivotal stage of their endgame journey. Sachin has an enviable track record of guiding clients through their strategic planning. His commitment to achieving optimal company sponsor and member outcomes made him the clear choice for leading our advisory endgame team.”
