Investment - Articles - International Bond reaches £2bn funds under management

Standard Life International's International Bond has reached a major investment milestone, achieving £2bn funds under management in just five years since launch.

Commenting on the success of the International Bond, Standard Life International's Ian Searle said:

"This is a tremendous achievement in a competitive market. It reflects the strength and simplicity of our proposition and our willingness to listen to ongoing feedback from financial advisers. This has been critical in ensuring that we deliver the right enhancements to the Bond, together with the high servicing standards that are expected.

"It also reflects the increasing interest in the tax efficiencies of offshore bonds and this is likely to increase further with the recent reduction in pension contribution limits. The UK retirement market is huge and with senior employees, partners and directors likely to be restricted by this latest legislation, other types of investment will need to be considered. Offshore bonds can be used to accumulate additional retirement funds with the added benefit of offering a tax efficient decumulation in retirement.

"So going forward we expect to see even greater interest in our International Bond. I would like to say "thank you" to all those advisers we work with and to underscore our commitment to ensuring our proposition continues to meet their needs and their clients' needs."
