Lifestyle Article - International reporting from Coni Longden for Bolton Global

This Summer, London Market headhunter, Constance Longden of Bolton Associates, is heading off around the world of re/insurance - and is taking the Actuarial Post with her!

“I’ve been a keen traveller for as long as I can remember, and have always been eager to take an extended trip and really see the world.” Coni says. “To be able to combine this with broadening my professional network and learning more about the international insurance market is an amazing opportunity!”

Starting mid June, the round the world trip will take her to four pivotal global insurance hubs - Bermuda, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong. Whilst in each city she will be meeting with actuaries - both local and those who have emigrated - to find out how the role of actuarial teams in the general insurance market differs globally and what the future holds for their individual teams.

"We have so many candidates approach us who are interested in making a move abroad, and whilst we do have an international network, it is hard to truly advise them when we don't have hands on experience of a city” Coni explains. “Likewise, we have clients in various territories, but it is hard to have the personal touch we strive for via emails and Skype - which is why it is so great to have the opportunity to go and meet people face to face - and in sunnier climes!”

Whilst she is racking up stamps in her passport, Constance will also be producing exclusive content for the Actuarial Post, as well as taking over Zoe Bolton's regular 'Lights, Camera, Actuary' column, with an international twist. July’s issue will see her focus on Bermuda, with Australia and the Asian market to follow through the Summer.

Bolton Associates MD, Zoe Bolton says of upcoming trip "I am thrilled to be able to offer Coni the opportunity to fulfil her travel ambitions whilst promoting our Bolton Global capabilities. With a proven track record and continued success in London, Coni is well placed to introduce Bolton Associates to the global actuarial and insurance community. We wish her a fabulous and fruitful trip, and ask her to make sure she comes back to London in September!"
