Investment - Articles - Michael Dempsey appointed at Mercer’s

 Michael Dempsey has been appointed Head of Mercer’s Investment Management business for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and a member of the firm’s EMEA executive team and its global Investment Management leadership team.

  

 For the last four years Mr. Dempsey has headed up Mercer’s Investment Management business in Ireland. In addition to successfully establishing and leading Mercer’s implemented consulting sales efforts, he was responsible for launching Mercer’s Dynamic De-Risking Solution(MDDS) across the market. In his new position Mr. Dempsey continues a long career with Mercer that also includes eight years with its investment consulting business.

  

 Mr. Dempsey said: “As the complexity of investment markets increases and the needs of our clients evolve, we continue to see significant demand for our delegated investment solutions. I look forward to building on our market leading position in the UK and Ireland as well as further expanding our footprint into continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where we are already working with a number of clients.”

  

 Mr. Dempsey replaces Tom Murphy, who after 5 years in the role is relocating to the US to take on the role of Regional Head of Investment Management, based in Mercer’s Boston office.
