Lifestyle Article - Sara Protheroe awarded OBE in Queens Birthday Honour List


The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is proud to announce that Sara Protheroe has been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

 Sara, who was recently appointed to the PPF Board and is the Chief Customer Officer, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to pensioners.
 
 She was a key part of the team that established the Fund more than 15 years ago while working at the Department for Work and Pensions. Sara leads the scheme and member services team where she plays a key role in setting the customer strategy, is responsible for the smooth transfer of schemes to the PPF and championing excellent customer service to 425,000 members.
 
 Sara Protheroe, Chief Customer Officer said: “I am extremely honoured to receive this recognition. Being a pivotal part of creating the PPF is one of my proudest career achievements, and it’s been a privilege to work to protect members’ futures ever since. The PPF has an important social purpose, and this honour recognises the commitment to that purpose of all those who tirelessly serve our members both directly and indirectly.”
 
 Oliver Morley, CEO, added: “I would like to congratulate Sara on this well-deserved recognition. We are delighted that Sara’s outstanding contribution to the pensions industry has been acknowledged. Her tireless work and efforts have contributed directly to making the PPF successful over the years and helped protect the futures of 425,000 members.”
