Spence & Partners (Spence), one of the leading providers of pensions advisory and data services to pensions schemes in the UK, has today announced two new actuarial appointments within the team: Graham Newman joins as Scheme Actuary within Spence’s London office, while David Lucas joins the Belfast office as Consulting Actuary. |
“Graham brings over 20 years’ actuarial experience working across a range of firms. He joins Spence from Capita, where latterly he was an Actuarial Practice Leader for London, Reading and Whitstable with responsibility for the regional team and for the development and implementation of the business strategy. Prior to working at Capita, Graham held a senior actuarial role at Broadstone Corporate Benefits Limited and also worked as a consultant at Mercer. David joins Spence from Lane Clark & Peacock where he spent more than five years working in a range of actuarial consulting roles. David previously spent over a year working in Spence’s Belfast office as an Actuarial Student. Commenting on the appointments, Alan Collins, Head of Trustee Advisory Services at Spence, said: “Graham and David are both excellent hires for our team. Graham brings a wealth of actuarial experience and we are delighted to welcome David back to our Belfast office, having begun his career with us a number of years ago. Their experience further bolsters our actuarial capability and we expect them to make a material contribution to the schemes we work with and are appointed to.” Graham Newman, Scheme Actuary, commented: “I have been extremely impressed by both the capability and expertise that I have seen within the Spence team. The firm’s ambitions are evident as it continues to build its profile and reputation in the industry, positioning itself as one of the leading providers of pensions advisory and data services to pensions schemes in the UK. I look forward to working with the team and my new clients.” David Lucas, Consulting Actuary, commented: “Having begun my career at Spence, I am delighted to be able to return and bring my more recent professional experience back to the business that gave me one of my first career opportunities. I look forward to making a valuable contribution going forwards.” |
