Aon has issued, ‘The Role of Diversified Growth Funds in DC Schemes: what are they good for?

This new paper looks at some of the criticisms that DGFs have attracted in recent times but argues that they do fulfill an important role within Defined Contribution (DC) portfolios.

Chris Inman, head of DC investment advisory at Aon, said: “Many investors have questioned the role of DGFs in their portfolio, with criticism focusing – often quite rightly – on their under-performance compared to what was expected of them.

“We would question those expectations. Is performance the only attribute to consider when evaluating DGFs? In this paper we have aimed to take the wider view and examine what DGFs are actually trying to achieve and the broader role they can play in a DC investment portfolio.”
