Lifestyle Article - Willis Towers Watson appoint Gavin Hill as Senior Consultant

Willis Towers Watson has announced the appointment of Gavin Hill as Senior Consultant to its Risk Consulting & Software business.

Hill joins the Risk Consulting & Software (RCS) team from the Bank of England, where he was a Senior Technical Specialist at the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA). With over 20 years of industry experience, he most recently spent time focusing on the retail and London markets, working across a wide range of specialist actuarial disciplines, including capital modelling under Solvency II, Pillar II model validation and reserving.

Hill played a leading role in the PRA’s supervisory team, where he developed extensive expertise in the design, development and implementation of complex actuarial solutions, including articulating the regulatory requirements for model validation and driving the PRA’s strategy on reserving and capital modelling for PPOs. Prior to the Bank of England, he held senior roles at Deloitte and Zurich where he specialised in capital modelling.

Commenting on his new appointment, Hill said: “Willis Towers Watson has made a decisive move to strengthen its presence and impact across the UK insurance market amid a volatile risk environment. The insurance landscape is evolving rapidly and I look forward to working with our clients to help them take control of their regulatory relationships and manage their risk and capital strategy in order to achieve profitable outcomes during these challenging times.”

Tammy Richardson, Managing Director, UK P&C Leader, Willis Towers Watson, said: “I am delighted Gavin is joining our team. He has considerable experience within the regulator and in model validation which will be a major asset not only to our clients, who are looking to derive the maximum business benefit from this demanding process, but also to the RCS team as we continue to strengthen our position as the leading consultancy and technology solutions provider for the insurance industry.”
