Pensions - Articles - PMI announce Legal and General as Insight Partner

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) announces Legal & General (L&G) as its latest Insight Partner, offering specialist support on pension risk transfer to PMI members.

The partnership will allow PMI members to access L&G’s specialist Pension Risk Transfer knowledge through its multiple distribution channels, including its monthly magazine ‘Pensions Aspects’, email newsletters, PMI TV and its dedicated Insight Partners web area.

PMI’s Insight Partnerships are developed exclusively with organisations considered to be thought leaders and experts in the industry, to support innovation on current, pertinent issues and add value through the delivery of insight.

Gareth Tancred, Chief Executive, PMI commented: “The pension risk transfer market has grown significantly over recent years, with trustee buy-in and buy-out activity expected to continue to rise in 2018 in response to the significant challenge of managing scheme liabilities and increased affordability.

“As a leader in their area, we are delighted to be working with L&G to provide our members with the latest thinking and insights on this topic.”

Costas Yiasoumi, Head of Core Business, Legal & General commented: “We’re delighted to have been selected by the PMI as an Insight Partner. As schemes across the industry mature the use of bulk annuity solutions becomes more and more prevalent. Over the last 30 years we’ve insured over 3,000 pension schemes and we now cover the pensions of over one million pensioners and deferred pensioners. We’ll help PMI members remain at the forefront of how and where bulk annuities can be used to successfully secure pension benefits with an insurance company”.
