Pensions - Articles - PwC grows its pensions team with new senior hire

PwC has expanded its pensions consulting team with the appointment of Charles Ward in the North West.

Charles joins PwC as a director from KPMG, having started his career at Mercer. He specialises in helping companies to construct and implement long-term strategic plans to manage their pension schemes.

Bringing over 20 years’ experience advising companies and trustees on pension-related issues, Charles will focus on helping clients manage the liabilities of their pension plans, using Skyval as the platform to underpin it all.

Charles’ appointment further strengthens PwC’s regional presence and builds on the appointment of Andrew Drake, former managing director at River and Mercantile plc, who joined PwC as a partner, to lead its regional pensions investment consulting activities in March. Andrew is working as part of the national pensions group, primarily focusing on providing comprehensive advice to trustees of both defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.

Raj Mody, head of PwC's pensions advisory group, said: “Since we launched Skyval, three years ago, our pensions consulting practice has grown by over 50%. As the demand for our services continues to grow I am delighted to welcome Charles on board.”

Charles Ward, new director at PwC, said: "I'm pleased to be joining PwC at this time of significant growth for the pensions practice. It is great to be working in such a multi-disciplined team and with some of the best expertise in the industry.”
