Welcome to the 2023 Actuarial Post Awards. We have been celebrating and rewarding talent and achievements of individuals in the actuarial arena since 2012. We would like to thank our sponsors who continue to support the awards, Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group, Bolton Associates and Star Actuarial Futures.

Sam Worthington, Head of P&C Technology, Strategy and Technology Group, Aon: At Aon, we are delighted to sponsor the Actuarial Post - Actuary of the Year award 2023 for the sixth consecutive year and honour the actuarial profession for their immense contribution in financial services. The actuarial skillset is broad and deep, testament to the wide variety of roles actuaries perform and reflected by the large number of exams needed to qualify. What differentiates actuaries from other professionals is their ability to quantify and communicate risk by analysing model results and overlaying qualitative domain knowledge.

Zoe Bolton, Managing Director at Bolton Associates: As we enter our ninth consecutive year of sponsoring the GI Actuary of the Year award, the team at Bolton Associates continues to grow in our niche sector, focusing on actuarial and analytics within the general insurance market specifically. The recruitment market within the GI Actuarial sector has been frantic this year, and shows no sign of abating. There has been an increase of pricing roles, partly due to tech transformation and also with a substantial amount of movement within reinsurance and casualty.

Richard Foulds, Associate Director , Star Actuarial Futures Ltd: Star Actuarial Futures is delighted to sponsor the Sustainability Actuary of the Year award for 2023. Sustainability is defined by the UN as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. It is ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being. And the corporate world has never faced more scrutiny on how it approaches sustainability than it is facing right now. Actuaries, as professional risk managers, have an immense opportunity to influence what our future will look like.
