Lifestyle Article - Actuary Jude Bennett joins Barnett Waddingham

Barnett Waddingham has hired Jude Bennett. He brings with him an array of expertise on all aspects of investment strategy.

With over 20 years of experience as a pensions and investment actuary, Jude will provide investment advice to trustees and employers of defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pension schemes, as well as providing advanced skills to support Barnett Waddingham’s growing Fiduciary Manager Evaluation (FME) services.

Jude will focus on advising trustees of DB schemes on all aspects of investment strategy by reviewing the full context of the scheme, the nature of the employer covenant and its funding position. He will provide direct and clear advice on areas that have the greatest impact on a scheme’s position by avoiding unnecessary complexity.

Joining from BBS Consultants & Actuaries where he led the investment practice, Jude’s client base has included a range of multinational and UK-based sponsors, including industrials, insurers, asset managers, charities and public sector organisations.

Jude Bennett, Principal and Senior Investment Consultant at Barnett Waddingham, said: “In an ever changing market we have the opportunity to stand above the crowd and provide well-thought out investment strategies for our clients. By fully immersing ourselves into a scheme we will develop in-depth reports to illustrate risk and the many other nuanced characteristics that influence a diverse range of investment strategies.

“As each day holds something new, so does each scheme. I have joined a talented team of consultants who genuinely value the specific needs of each and every client and prospect.”

David Moreton, Principal and Bristol Office Lead at Barnett Waddingham, said: “Jude’s appointment is a reflection of the continued increase in client and prospect demand in Bristol and the South West, and across the business more widely.

“His expertise across a wide range of schemes will bolster Barnett Waddingham’s already well established team, and continues the development of additional resources so we can continue to provide a first class service our growing client base.”

Alex Pocock, Partner and Head of Investment Consulting at Barnett Waddingham, said: “We continually invest in our people at Barnett Waddingham in order to provide the best bespoke services we can to our clients. Jude’s expertise is an invaluable asset to us and our clients in investment consultancy.”
