Lifestyle Article - Actuary Mike Edwards joins Aon as Partner in Risk Settlement

 Mike Edwards has over 14 years’ experience in the pensions and insurance industry, specialising in risk settlement solutions. Mike joins from Scottish Widows, where, as head of Origination and Structuring, he was instrumental in the launch and development of the company’s bulk annuity business and oversaw the completion of over £2.5bn of transactions. Prior to this, Mike held a senior role in Legal and General’s bulk annuity team where he developed a range of new solutions to support pension scheme de-risking. Mike has been a qualified actuary since 2007. 

 Martin Bird, senior partner and head of Risk Settlement at Aon said: “In a year where we expect transaction values to reach £30 billion, Mike Edward’s extensive experience across the full range of bulk annuity and liability settlement solutions is an excellent addition to our existing team.
