 Michelle Mitchell, Charity Director of Age UK said:

 Age UK policy has been lobbying for some time for the Government to recognise the difficulties facing modest pension savers who may accumulate a number of small pension ‘pots' over their working lifetime. The rules for turning these small pots into a retirement income are complex and can lead to extra costs for small savers. We're delighted that the Government has listened and is currently consulting on how to simplify the system.
