Pensions - Articles - Asda selects Skyval to provide pension accounting disclosure

Asda has selected PwC to provide pension accounting services using Skyval for its defined benefit pension scheme.

Asda appointed PwC due to the team having the right expertise and technology to fit their requirements. Skyval can provide the information for all Asda’s pension accounting needs required under UK, US and international accounting standards. The disclosures are produced at the touch of a button - allowing the team confidence to meet their tight deadlines for year end.

Asda selected Skyval after a detailed review of the market. Skyval’s funding tracker means that Asda can monitor the position of its defined benefit pension scheme throughout the year.

Richard Giles, PwC pension partner, said:
“We’re looking forward to working with Asda to make their year-end pensions accounting process smoother and less of a drain on their time and resources. Our team’s deep technical pensions accounting knowledge, combined with Skyval’s ability to provide their pensions figures within their very tight timescales was a winning combination for Asda.”

Raj Mody, head of pensions consulting and Skyval at PwC, said:
“Skyval is now being used by over £200bn of pension schemes, of various sizes and types. Our clients are using Skyval to manage a vast range of pension issues in a clearer, more accurate and quicker way. The platform is also constantly evolving, with new functionality designed to address our clients’ needs.”
