Lifestyle Article - Canada Life announces senior management changes


Canada Life Group Insurance today announces a number of senior management team changes affecting the Group Protection leadership.

 • Tim Stoves, formerly Interim Managing Director, is appointed Managing Director
 • Andy Tarzey becomes Operations Director of Group Insurance
 • Helen Abiona becomes Head of Pricing, Group Insurance
  
 Tim Stoves, previously Interim Managing Director of Canada Life Group Insurance, has assumed the role of Managing Director. Tim held the role of Interim MD for one year, and brings a wealth of Group experience to the role, having previously acted as Scheme Underwriting Manager.
  
 Tim Stoves comments: “Ian McMullan (former Managing Director of Canada Life) did incredible work to bring the organisation to the market-leading position it currently enjoys, ranking number one on all measurable market indices. With these strong foundations in place, and the continuity provided by an excellent and experienced management team, I am confident we can build on Ian’s legacy while retaining our leading position.”
  
 Other senior management team changes announced today include the appointment of Andy Tarzey as Operations Director of Group Insurance. Service underpins the success of Canada Life’s business, and under Andy’s stewardship as head of Operations, Canada Life Group was ranked number one service provider by advisers for the eighth year in a row. Andy will now act as Operations Director in recognition of this achievement in a challenging year.
  
 Helen Abiona, previously Senior Pricing Actuary will now assume the role of Head of Pricing, Group Insurance.
