Kate Smith, head of pensions at Aegon comments on the Pension Dashboard Programme consultation on the Data Scope and Definitions

“As a long-term supporter of pension dashboards, we’re delighted that the Pension Dashboard Programme has restarted, after a pause of several months. The Data Definitions working paper was published in April, setting out its proposals, not long into the Covid-19 crisis. Today’s consultation will help to bring clarity on the data scope and definitions allowing the pension industry to understand what exactly is needed to interact with pension dashboards, enabling them to better plan ahead.

“Some of the pensions industry is already digitally fit, sharing data digitally with members, employers, trustees and advisers and will be ahead of the curve in being able to share their data with pension dashboards. The Covid-19 crisis has accelerated this with more people willing to engage online.

“Maintaining accurate and complete data should be a core principle for the entire spectrum of the pensions industry. We look forward to working with the Pension Dashboard Programme.”
