Investment - Articles - EY comments as TISA launches TSIP project

As TISA launches The Savings and Investment Policy (TSIP) project today, to encourage and influence effective savings and investment policy in the UK, Gill Lofts, UK Head of Wealth and Asset Management at EY, comments on the financial services industry’s role in long term saving goals:

“The financial services industry has a pivotal role to play in creating the frameworks for people to save within. As the economy strengthens, and with major pensions reform just a month from implementation, fund managers and insurers have been mapping out new and innovative products, which we expect will start to hit the market this year. Moving away from the rigid traditional annuities market, these products should help people of all ages to save for their future in ways they feel comfortable with and can understand, regardless of their means.

“TISA’s work to make sure long term saving is firmly on the government agenda and front of mind for people is going to be key to ensuring Britain saves effectively for its future. Encouraging people to save needs to be an integral part of plans for strong economic growth.”
