Pensions - Articles - Govt Actuary - How to 'actuarially' draw state pension early


At 09.30, Wednesday 20 April 2016, the Committee will hear from Chris Curry, Director of the Pensions Policy Institute, Alan Higham of PensionsChamp advisors and at approximately 10.15, Martin Clarke, the Government Actuary, on how to develop a formula to calculate an “actuarially” or fiscally neutral option for people to draw their state pension early.

 This option was proposed by the Committee in the second report of their inquiry Understanding the new State Pension in response to concerns particularly among women nearing retirement age that they had not been informed in sufficient time about changes to the state pension age to be able to plan for their retirement. That proposal led to the opening of this inquiry Early drawing of state pension
