Legal & General has announced the appointment of Ali Toutounchi as a trustee of the Legal & General Mastertrust and a member of the Legal & General Independent Governance Committee (IGC

 Toutounchi was formerly managing director for Legal & General Investment Management’s global index funds. He will also become the chairman of the Mastertrust’s investment committee.

 Paul Trickett, Chairman of the Legal & General Mastertrust, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Ali as a trustee of the Legal & General Mastertrust and a member of the IGC. His wealth of investment experience will be of huge benefit as we continue to focus on ensuring members get the best value from their pension contributions.”

 Toutounchi worked at Legal & General for over 20 years. He has held senior roles at NatWest Securities, UBS Asset Management and Wood Mackenzie Stockbrokers. He is a member of the FTSE Policy Group.
