Articles - Mercer appoints new UK Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

Mercer has announced the appointment of Adam Rosenberg as the Mergers and Acquisitions Leader for the UK. Based in London and Manchester, Mr Rosenberg’s role will be to service the growing appetite of multinationals buying and selling businesses in Europe.

Mr Rosenberg joined Mercer in 1995 and over the last 10 years has advised multinationals and private equity firms on the personnel and benefit related aspects of buying and selling businesses. Mr Rosenberg has extensive experience of advising on international and domestic acquisitions, including on the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection and Employment) Regulations.

Giles Archibald, EMEA Leader of Mercer M&A, commented on the appointment, “I am delighted that such a talented and experienced individual will be responsible for driving the growth of the M&A business at Mercer in the UK.”

Mr Rosenberg said, “I’m pleased to be appointed to this key role at such a crucial time for M&A recovery. In contrast to the lull in transaction activity in recent years, an influx of cash from the US and more significantly Asia in 2013, has led to a reinvigorated market.

There are also many UK and European companies who are now re-entering a growth period and the knock-on effect is that acquisition numbers are rising in Europe. Continued market uncertainty in the Eurozone is hampering recovery somewhat, but there is now an increasing acceptance that uncertain operating conditions are the current norm.”
