Lifestyle Article - Mitchell Consulting appoint scheme actuary Darren Howarth


Mitchell Consulting Actuaries Limited has announced the appointment of Darren Howarth as an Associate Director – Darren’s role will also extend to sister company 2020 Trustees.

 Nigel Jones, CEO of the company said: “We are delighted to welcome Darren to the firm. We continue to enjoy excellent growth and expansion across both our businesses and this appointment will enhance our skilled actuarial team and in addition, Darren’s management experience will be a valuable asset.”

 Darren who lives in Manchester, has been a qualified actuary for over 15 years and has more than 20 years’ experience in the pensions field. He joins from Conduent where most recently he was a Scheme Actuary and also the Head of the Manchester regional office.

 Darren said: “This position provides an excellent opportunity for me to continue to act as a Scheme Actuary (with Mitchell Consulting) but also to undertake an exciting new challenge as an independent trustee with 2020 Trustees, a field where I feel that I can add real value by making full use of my skills and experience.”

Mitchell for its innovative work providing advisory and administration services for trustees and employers in respect of defined benefit and defined contributions schemes. 2020 often work with distressed or financially challenged pension schemes and their sponsoring employers and are one of only five firms on the PPF’s trustee panel.”

 Away from work, Darren is a keen Manchester City FC supporter and as a former England table tennis team member, he remains involved with supporting younger players.
