Workplace pensions provider, NOW: Pensions has appointed Russell Whitmore as Head of Technical Support based in its newly opened Nottingham office.

Russell has 20 years of occupational pensions experience in third party administration and actuarial consultancy. He joins NOW: Pensions from Xafinity Consulting where he was responsible for project managing pension schemes into the government’s Financial Assistance Scheme.

Prior to this, Russell was a Trustee Manager at law firm Eversheds where he was part of its Independent Trustee service.

A graduate of the University of Lincoln, Russell also holds relevant qualifications from the Pensions Management Institute and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Commenting on his appointment, Russell Whitmore said: “Up to 500,000 small firms will have to comply with auto enrolment this year, an unprecedented challenge for the industry. NOW: Pensions is a leading player in the auto enrolment market and is ideally placed to help smaller companies. I’m very excited to be joining the team.”

Morten Nilsson, CEO of NOW: Pensions said: “Day by day we are developing and strengthening our team in Nottingham. Russell’s experience will be invaluable, helping to ensure that we’re providing the best possible service and support to all our clients.”

NOW: Pensions officially opened its Nottingham office in November. It has already appointed over 40 staff and intends to hire up to 250 over the next two years.
