Pensions - Articles - One of UK’s most senior pensions actuaries joins Xafinity

Xafinity has appointed Sankar Mahalingham as a senior member of the actuarial and wider management team.

Sankar joins Xafinity from Punter Southall, where he had joint responsibility for growth of the Punter Southall Transaction Services (PSTS) division and a leadership role. Prior to this, Sankar was Head of Group Pensions at RSA Insurance plc. He also worked as a Director at Towers Watson, where his roles included corporate adviser and investment consultant.

With over 20 years of experience as an actuary advising both trustees and sponsors, Sankar’s areas of expertise include pension scheme risk management and de-risking.

Xafinity’s managing director, Jeff Hunt, said: “Sankar has a wealth of experience and a wide range of skills which will prove invaluable at Xafinity. We are delighted that he has joined the team.”

Sankar Mahalingham, Xafinity, added: “I have joined an exceptional team and business which has invested to align its services to meet the challenges faced by trustees and sponsors in the current environment. I look forward to working with clients and colleagues to continue the strong growth that the business has achieved over the last few years.”
