Investment - Articles - PMI announces Hymans Robertson as DC Governance Partner

The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) have announced that Hymans Robertson is its Insight Partner for DC governance.

The partnership will give PMI members access to Hymans Robertson thought leadership on DC governance through its multiple distribution channels, including its monthly magazine ‘Pensions Aspects’, email newsletters, events, PMI TV and its dedicated Insight Partners web area.

PMI’s Insight Partnerships are developed with organisations considered to be thought leaders and experts in the industry, to support innovation on current, pertinent issues and add value through the delivery of insight.

Laura Andrikopoulos, Head of Governance at Hymans Robertson, commented: “Governance has never been higher up the pensions agenda and is essential to ensuring good member outcomes for all forms of DC schemes. This is across the spectrum, from those schemes run by traditional trustee bodies to master trust trustees, and increasingly also the Governance Committees that have been set up to oversee GPP and master trust arrangements.

“We are committed to supporting these governance bodies with best practice consulting covering a wide range of governance issues including board effectiveness, risk management and support with regulatory codes and requirements. It is such an important area that we are thrilled to be able to partner with the PMI to help increase understanding across the industry.”

Gareth Tancred, Chief Executive, PMI commented: “Governance is a fundamental requirement for DC schemes. Having a robust governance structure and process in place is essential to achieving good member outcomes, while ensuring compliance with The Pensions Regulator, minimising risk and reducing cost.

“We are delighted to be working with Hymans Robertson to support our members in improving their understanding on this important topic.”
