Pensions - Articles - Pru boosted by Defaqto Five Star ratings

Independent research firm Defaqto has recently completed its review of Star Rating criteria for 2013 and has awarded its highest ratings for several Prudential investment and pension products.

The Flexible Retirement Plan (Full SIPP), Prudential Investment Plan and two of the provider's international products have been given the "Five Star" ratings.

Commenting on the announcement, Prudential's Product Director John Warburton said: "This is a huge endorsement of our products from a recognised and respected research company. Prudential has also recently commissioned Defaqto to carry out an independent fact-based review of the PruFund proposition through its bond and pension wrappers. This has not only highlighted the attractiveness of the products, but also the various financial planning exercises they can form an important part of."

The products rated as Five Star by Defaqto are:

♦ The Flexible Retirement Plan (FRP) - Full SIPP
♦ The Prudential Investment Plan (PIP)
♦ The Prudential International Investment Bond (PIIB)
♦ The Prudential International Investment Portfolio (PIIP)

Defaqto independently rates every financial services product across nearly 50 areas, awarding from one to five stars. According to the research firm, a five star rating indicates an "excellent product with a comprehensive range of features and benefits".
