General Insurance Article - The Floow partner with US provider on telematics platform

Agero, Inc., a leading provider of vehicle and driver safety, security and information services, today announced its partnership with The Floow Limited, a leading international telematics organization, to enhance Agero’s Driver360TM usage-based insurance (UBI) telematics platform with The Floow’s advanced driver scoring and analytics capabilities. Agero and The Floow are announcing this partnership as part of their presence at the Insurance Telematics USA 2015 conference and exhibition, September 2-3 in Chicago, Illinois.

“With increasing demand for UBI services from our clients, we strongly believe that mobile solutions will be critical for mass market deployments. The Floow is a leading global player in mobile-based UBI data analytics and services with an impressive record of deployments based on their leading data science and actuarial capabilities,” said Dave Ferrick, CEO of Agero. “Our collaboration allows us to bring our clients a best-in-class holistic solution that provides a seamless end-to-end experience from driver coaching, to roadside services, to emergency services and accident management.”

“We have experienced significant demand for our solutions in the U.S. market. Partnering with an organization of Agero’s caliber and experience in the industry gives us the distribution reach, credibility and complementary assets required to maximize market penetration,” said Aldo Monteforte, CEO, The Floow. “We look forward to working with Agero to provide cutting edge telematics insights that will enable insurers to bring behavior-based information to drivers and enhance the incident recovery process.”

Agero’s Driver360TM platform offers UBI predictive analytics that uses mobile device sensors on the smartphone to track driver behavior, such as how often and far a policyholder drives; how hard they brake or accelerate; if they travel during peak urban traffic hours; and more. By having this data, insurers are able to tailor a driver’s insurance premium to match their specific risk levels. The Agero platform also offers Automatic Crash Notification (ACN) technology that enables mobile devices to determine the severity of impact during an accident, and respond by automatically contacting emergency responders, designated personal contacts, and the insurer, while simultaneously utilizing Agero’s years of experience in accident scene management and proven national network of service providers to deliver the assistance that drivers need.
