Life - Articles - Towers Watson appoint new UK life leader

Towers Watson has appointed Scott Robinson as the UK head of its life insurance practice, taking over from Chris Fordham who is moving into a senior client relationship role after three years in the job.

Scott Robinson joined Towers Watson in 1997 and prior to his appointment headed the Manchester office of the Risk Consulting and Software (RCS) practice. Towers Watson’s RCS business provides actuarial, strategic, performance improvement, financial, and software solutions and advice to insurers and reinsurers globally.

He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds statutory actuarial roles in both the UK and Malta. His consultancy experience covers a wide range of life insurance business areas, including statutory and financial reporting, managing with-profit business, pricing, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. In recent years Scott has been closely involved in regulatory advisory work, having led Towers Watson’s Solvency II Pillar 1 initiative from a life insurance perspective.

Michael Murphy, RCS Managing Director (EMEA) at Towers Watson, commented: “Scott knows our business, our people and our clients extremely well and brings the kind of market awareness and understanding that we felt was particularly important for continuing to move our UK life practice forward.”
