General Insurance Article - Zurich retains place in Sunday Times Companies to Work For

Zurich retains its place in the Sunday Times Top 25 Big Companies to Work For and the insurer also picks up special award.

For the fourth year running, Zurich has earned a place in the Sunday Times Top 25 Big Companies to Work For – widely recognised as the UK’s definitive survey of workplace satisfaction.

This follows an in-depth look at the company, including an extensive, independent survey of over 1,000 employees who gave their opinion on what it is like to work for Zurich. Those opinions were compared against other large organisations and the top 25 companies made it to the final list. Zurich was placed 19th overall.

The insurer also secured an award in the category ‘Giving Something Back’ for the second year in a row, singling out the company’s Corporate Responsibility activities for recognition.

The Zurich Community Trust, the charitable arm of Zurich funded by the UK business and generous donations from employees in the UK, supports more than 600 charities each year. Since it was set up in 1973, over £63 million has been donated to local communities in the UK and overseas. Last year, Zurich's employees donated £541,000 to support the programme as well as 5,696 days of volunteering.

Peter Campbell, UK HR Director at Zurich said:
‘It's great to know that based on feedback from our employees, Zurich continues to place so highly amongst the very best companies to work for in the UK. The Special Award we won for 'Giving Something Back' is particularly exciting. It reflects what so many of our people do to contribute to the charities we support and the communities of which we are part”.

Zurich is also one of the pioneer Business In The Community CommunityMark companies, a standard representing excellence in community investment.
