Helen Kinloch, PIC Talent Acquisition Manager: We are delighted to sponsor the Actuary of the Year Awards for a consecutive year. As an organisation with a strong community of actuaries, PIC is proud to celebrate and recognise the incredible talent, skill and dedication that defines the actuarial profession. Actuaries play a vital role both within our business and across the world, from advancing climate and ESG risk analysis to driving both security of people’s financial futures and economic stability and enabling infrastructure and regeneration investment. Congratulations to all nominees – your work continues to shape the future of our industry and inspires us all. We are honoured to support these awards which showcases the very best of the profession and are excited to soon announce the 2025 winners!

Zoe Bolton, Managing Director at Bolton Associates: As we enter our eleventh consecutive year of sponsoring the GI Actuary of the Year award, the team at Bolton Associates continues to grow in our niche sector, focusing on actuarial and analytics within the general insurance market specifically. The recruitment market within the GI Actuarial sector has been frantic this year, and shows no sign of abating. There has been an increase of pricing roles, partly due to tech transformation and also with a substantial amount of movement within reinsurance and casualty.

Richard Foulds, Associate Partner, Star Actuarial Futures: Star Actuarial Futures is delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Sustainability Actuary of the Year award. 2025 has been a turbulent year for global sustainability, with conflicting opinions across global markets on the importance and hence prioritisation of climate action. Green investment has slowed in the US but accelerated in Europe, creating challenges and opportunities for finance and insurance firms with interests in both markets. Many firms quietly continue funding green projects but avoid labelling them “green” to evade political backlash, a new phenomenon dubbed “greenhushing.” Actuaries continue to work hard to understand and mitigate the changing risk landscape, integrating sustainability reporting into the BAU function, and developing more sophisticated models to deal with escalating climate losses, insurance affordability issues, and changing capital regulations. To anyone working directly (or indirectly) in this sector – keep up the great work! Congratulations and best of luck to anyone who receives a nomination. I can’t wait to see the shortlist this year.
