Allianz Legal Protection (ALP) has appointed Phil Ruse to the newly-created role of head of sales and distribution. Phil will work with the ALP management team to devise and execute sales and distribution strategies for the Company’s legal expenses products and will directly report to Simon Brimicombe, director for broker and corporate partner at Allianz Retail. Phil has worked for Allianz for many years and has expertise across the insurance business including underwriting, sales and marketing. His previous role was head of operations within Allianz’s Retail division. Simon Brimicombe said: “Investing in our legal protection business at a time when many competitors have taken a more negative outlook on this market, represents a real statement of our intent. This move shows that we have the flexibility to adapt our structures to meet the needs of the market and we believe that Phil’s appointment will ensure ALP remains a profitable part of Allianz Retail for the long-term.”
Phil Ruse adds: “This role is both exciting and challenging and I look forward to putting a strategy in place, which will ensure that we respond appropriately to the significant changes taking place in the market, and bring further benefits to our customers.
