Articles - Arista in Midlands growth push with new senior underwriter

Commercial lines underwriting specialist Arista Insurance has appointed Grant Twist to the position of senior underwriter in its Midlands team.

Grant brings 20 years’ experience to his new role, which he starts with immediate effect.

In his Arista role, Grant will focus on property, contractors and commercial combined and will be responsible for developing new and existing broker relationships, servicing brokers’ current business and helping them with new business growth.

Grant joins from CGU Insurance in Australia, part of IAG, where he was a development underwriter responsible for new business development. Prior to that, Grant worked for GRE Insurance based in Birmingham.

This appointment strengthens Arista’s support for brokers in the Midlands, with a greater number of broker-facing staff possessing a breadth of underwriting experience and the authority to make decisions. Grant will report to branch manager Scott Hallett.

Arista chief executive Charles Earle said: “Grant’s skills and extensive experience will be a great asset to our Birmingham team and the brokers they serve in the region. The Midlands is obviously a key area and an important market which, with the addition of Grant, Arista is in a better position to serve.”
