 Former Dragon’s Den investor James Caan enters the world of Actuarial Recruitment

 Today sees the launch of Visir, a new dynamic Actuarial Recruitment agency headed up by entrepreneur James Caan.

 No stranger to the recruitment business, James began his career in the late 1970’s working as a trainee interviewer for a leading recruitment agency. One thing lead to another and in the mid-eighties James spotted a gap and launched his own Alexander Mann. Even though he sold Alexander Mann he has since been investing in recruitment agencies that explore new and unique markets.

 In an exclusive interview with Actuarial Post magazine, Editor Ellie Burns asked “As an investor what attracted you to the actuarial recruitment market initially?” James replied “It was mainly due to the consultative and highly specialised nature of the actuarial market. With the help of some excellent consultants, we are able to build the business very quickly and maintain a healthy margin percentage. When you couple this with a growth market that has international capacity, it becomes very attractive to the investor.”
