Articles - Steve McGill to Assume New Role of Group President, Aon

Aon Plc., the leading global provider of risk and people solutions, today announced the appointment of Steve McGill as group president. In this capacity, McGill will oversee the development of Aon’s overall growth strategy and opportunity planning, primarily focused on the firm’s Risk Solutions segment encompassing Aon Risk Solutions and Aon Benfield. Effective coordination across the firm puts Aon in a stronger position to deliver value for clients and represents the next step in reaching Aon’s growth objectives.

"Steve is an exceptional leader for our firm," said Greg Case, Aon president and chief executive officer. "His leadership has been instrumental in developing our teams and building Aon Risk Solutions into the preeminent risk management and insurance brokerage firm in the world today. We are excited that he is taking on this new role and confident he will bring the same focus, passion and leadership capabilities he has demonstrated in Aon Risk Solutions to the rest of the firm.

"We have unmatched content, talent and capabilities across the critical business disciplines of risk and people. Our goal is to build upon our offerings and continue to provide clients with the advice and solutions they need to achieve their business goals, while reinforcing Aon’s leadership position in the industry."
McGill, who joined Aon in 2005, will maintain his role as chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Solutions and will continue to report to Case.
 This appointment is effective immediately.
