General Insurance Article - Winter flooding 2015/16: the story so far


The ABI has published a new infographic showing how insurers have responded to the flooding caused by storms Desmond, Eva and Frank.

 2015/16 Flooding in numbersABI figures published on January 11, 2016 show that between December 3, 2015 and January 3, 2016 the insurance response included:
     
  •   £24 million in total spent on emergency payments to households and businesses
  •  
  •   3,000 families helped into alternative accommodation
  •  
  •   £50,000: the average cost of a domestic property flood claim
  •  
  •   More than 8,300 loss adjuster visits made since December 3, 2015
