Articles - Stars of the Future 2024 Vote Now

The nominations are now in and the shortlist has been finalised. The nominees are waiting for your votes. You can now vote for someone for Stars of the Future 2024, sponsored by Star Actuarial Futures. It’s vital to remember that we all started somewhere and becoming an actuary is no easy feat. We relish acknowledging the emerging talent within the actuarial market and celebrate the ones to watch with our Stars of the Future Awards. All of the finalists are celebrated and highlighted with three lucky winners taking home an award.

After 11 years this award has grown in popularity and enjoyment. A wonderful opportunity to pause and recognise all the hard work and talent within the actuarial market.

The winner will grace the cover of our winners magazine and two runners-up will also receive an award and all finalists are celebrated.

Who do you think has worked exceptionally hard this year or achieved something great? Who do you think will be making an impact on the market in five years time.

Richard Foulds, Associate Director, Star Actuarial Futures: Star Actuarial is proud to sponsor the Stars of the Future award once again. An award that recognises actuaries who are at the early stage of their career, but already making an impact through their work and contribution to the profession.

As someone who has been fortunate to recruit actuaries for the past 20 years, I have seen firsthand how important it is for the profession to evolve to reflect changing market and societal needs. This change can only be carried out from within, and often most effectively by people who bring new perspectives and energy into the profession.

So for anyone who receives a nomination – well done, and keep up the great work. And for anyone who misses out this year – keep trying, as next year it could be your name in lights.

2023 Stars of the Future Winner – Lauren Millar: I was delighted to have even been nominated in the first place, let alone be lucky enough to win the award! Moving from life insurance pricing to pensions consulting a few years ago was a big decision for me. This nomination has given me the opportunity to reflect on my own career path to date and has given me comfort that the decision has paid off in some respect.
